Northern Botswana Weather trends
The North of Botswana lies within the tropics, but has a more temperate than tropical climate, due mostly to being 900m above sea level. Our winter months from May to August are dry and warm during the day but can drop to freezing at night during the presence of an Atlantic low.
In early summer, September till November, temperatures can soar into the 40s during the days before the rains arrive. Short and intense thunderstorms that are very localised are a welcome relief at this time.
